Feline/Canine Friends was founded in 1989, by Marie Valentino, a retired school teacher, to prevent cruelty to animals. As a non-profit, 501(C)(3), no-kill shelter, we work primarily, but not exclusively, with felines. We advocate animal welfare rights and the preservation of animal life for abandoned, sick and feral cats. We provide sanctuary to special-needs felines, including FIV and feline leukemia cats. We continue to educate and advocate, to the public, the importance of spay and neuter, to reduce the number of unwanted, abandoned animals.

Meet our friend, Mocha "The House Dog"
She is a wonderful, loving chocolate labrador, who keeps us all amused and entertained at the shelter.
She is the lead, cat watcher at the shelter. She doesn't just love them all, she makes sure that they are all in their correct rooms. If one escapes, she herds them back to where they belong!
We could not run the shelter without her!
